Who can apply to be an Ambassador?
All people who care about powering, protecting, and celebrating wild nature and what Wade Davis calls the "ethnosphere" — the planet's vibrant cultural and spiritual web of life.
Preference is given to applicants with a unique and proven ability to transform a passion for the environment and cultural diversity into soul-stirring, online stories — writers, photographers, videographers, and digital storytellers.
Untrodden's Contribution Pledge?
On average, $500 per booking. For each new traveler that the Ambassador refers to Untrodden, Untrodden will contribute all net proceeds from that user's first booking to the Ambassador's mission-driven organization of choice.
How do I apply?
You can apply here.
What are eligible organizations?
The organization must either be a registered nonprofit or NGO, as defined by our partner TechSoup, and be validated through TechSoup. If the cause or initiative doesn't meet these criteria, Untrodden is willing to make exceptions if the Ambassador articulates clear local and conservation-related benefits.
You'll need to provide us with the organization’s bank information as a payout method. Since Untrodden waives all fees for eligible referrals, 100% of the proceeds are paid directly to the organization via bank transfer. If the organization requires a fiscal sponsor, please be sure the fiscal sponsor provides this information.
What causes aren't eligible?
- Religious or belief organizations, except when their activities are non-sectarian and welcoming of all faiths
- Organizations that discriminate or have exclusionary practices on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, or other issues of diversity, even if this could be permitted by local laws
- Political or lobbying organizations, fraternities/sororities and certain mutual benefit organizations
